CLEVELAND, Ohio -- When Jason Lucas moved to Cleveland from Portland, Oregon, four years ago, he rented an apartment within walking distance of his office on East Ninth Street.
But he quickly started searching for something to buy. And he was shocked by the lack of for-sale housing in the center city.
Construction workers, using a tower crane recently perched on the 10-story parking garage at 515 Euclid Ave., are starting the skyward climb that will produce the 28-story Beacon apartments.
Scheduled to open by 2019, the $94 million project by Cleveland-based Stark Enterprises will add 187 luxury rentals to the city.
CLEVELAND-- The newest downtown Cleveland development project, nuCLEus, announced a few of its tenants on Wednesday.
The mixed-use, high-rise will be located at the corner of East 4th Street and Huron Road, across from Quicken Loans Arena. (More details on the development here)

But to live, work and play there will cost you a pretty penny.
Several new apartment buildings and former offices converted into rental properties are hitting the market fast and furious.
And they're filling fast, with waiting lists well into 2018.
Michael Deemer, Executive Vice-President for Business Development for the Downtown Cleveland Alliance, says the reason is simple.
Sculpt Fitness owner Josh Dickey only needs to step outside his new downtown location at the corner of East 21st Street and Superior Avenue to realize he's in the right place. Within walking distance or a short drive from his year-old gym are restaurants, grocery stores and four residential buildings.
